From the point toyota threw around all the money when the big 3 were almost bankrupt, was when the loyal fan base started to wane. It's a Japanese owned company I don't care where a percentage of them are bolted together!

Dodge would probably still be involved if not for the greed of nascar and toyota buying off teams.

Empty stands are the result of backfired greed.

For many years growing up I had great memories of attending races at Riverside, Ontario, Phoenix, and later at Fontana with my family, I don't think I've been to a live race in about 7 or 8 years now and now I can't stand to even watch on TV with the toyota boys announcing.

SAD!!

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

A season ticket holder @ The Brickyard and Pocono , I gave up a life long love affair with NASCAR with the inclusion of Toyota. The big three helped build the sport and this country .

Don't care who builds them or drives them - profits go overseas . Un-American Period

Jack roush said it best let Toyota in and in 8 to 10 years they will totally dominate nascar with all their money , guess nascar should listen. With their ears not their greedy $ signs for eyes and brains

This dose not help the good old usa! Keep buying those jap junks and keep there economy strong.

NASCAR seems to be all about Toyota money these days. It will never be the same.

I really don't think Dodge is in it because of Fiat. They enjoy the HEMI at the dragstrip and that has better advertising returns.

I could not agree with you more, I was a fan in the early 80's sport was great from the first race at Phoenix in 88 through a span in early 2000 never missed a race, been to Daytona, Bros to Las vegas, and the California race, now it's Toyota nascar or nascar Toyota everything is Toyota don't go any longer to me the sport Died along with Dale Sr. Miss what won on Sunday is what the dealers sold monday.

Toyota don't even make V8 Camery.

Maybe if we were more proud of our country we would buy our own products which now are just as good if not better than brands.

You all can keep your Toyota racing nascar killed it self.

I agree. The down fall started with toyota.

My wife and I used to go to the races in California, watch it every sunday as did my to boys. Haven't went to or watched a race in years. Threw away our NASCAR junk. Now I get a kick out of watching their fall every now and then online.

The playoff system they have is ridiculous, letting non playoff teams compete (interfere) with playoff teams. They got want they wanted, the new bred of fans.....

There is something not right in Nascar today. The Toyotas seem to have something extra under the hood.

In the last few races the Toyotas have been the top three in qualifying against all the others. Something stinks to high heaven and Nascar needs to address this.

NASCAR will not address this. Toyota has paid them not to address it.

Nascar had sellout's at all 33 races for 16 years in a row leading up to Toyota buying their way into the sport. It was the *** Waltrip brothers that brokered the deal, along with that *** gasket Mike Helton. Brian France was either too stoned, drunk or both to give a *** as he is not the racing type anyway. So they traded short term cash for the long term demise of the sport.

Don't be surprised if NBC does not complete their whole contract with Nascar. If you are wondering why there are so many commercials during a race, it's because NBC can no longer demand high dollars for spots on a Nascar race. They have to sell lots of spots very cheap. If your looking for some cheap advertising for your company of product, NBCSN NASCAR races are the place to get it.

But keep in mind, before you waste your advertising dollar, "No one is watching".

You people slay me. You act like you actually know what you are talking about when most of you are so uneducated you can't even compose simple sentences without spelling and punctuation errors.

Toyota does have one huge advantage. It is TRD building the engines. That is it. GM and Ford don't participate anywhere near the same level.

There is one problem that has killed the automobile industry in the US. I became a dealer in the early 70's and watched as GM took advantage of a generation of WW2 vets that wouldn't consider buying a Japanese or even a European car. When things changed in 1971 instead of addressing the new emissions standards, they took the short term solution. It was lean the engines, reduce compression and lighten the cars.

Unfortunately, while Datsun, Toyota and Honda were spending billions on research, the big three felt that there was no need to worry. I saw one of the Chevrolet execs at a seminar in the mid 70's and he stated "We aren't here to make cars. We are here to make money". If there was more money in refrigerators, that is what we would build.

Well, since the draft was eliminated in 1973, patriotism kind of went away. Younger customers had no loyalty and purchased the best product. The US manufacturers fell terribly behind in the 70's and 80's. As for the people talking about Chrysler.

The engine that MOPAR ran in NASCAR was basically a small blockchevy with siamese port heads. The Chevy small block became uncompetitive in the mid 2000's and Chrysler didn't have the money to develop a new motor.

That is why they left. Period.

For me, Toyota killed nascar. I don't care what your opinion is or what killed it for other people. When Toyota came in I tuned out.
